Kirse Junge-Stevnsborg
Director of Malmö Art Museum
Kirse Junge-Stevnsborg (b. 1974) holds a master’s in Aesthetics and Culture/Art history and is the director of Malmö Art Museum since 2019. From 2009 – 2018 she was director of Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art in Copenhagen. From 2006 – 2009 she worked as director at Gävle Konstcentrum in Sweden. Previously, Kirse Junge-Stevnsborg has worked for the international NGO art agency ART 2030, Dunkers Kulturhus in Helsingborg, Sweden, The Center for Danish Visual Arts, Copenhagen, Gallery Nicolai Wallner, Copenhagen and Tate Gallery, London.
Kirse Junge Stevnsborg also serves as board member of several art institutional boards and has been the chair of the Danish Kunsthalle association for several years. She has written texts on contemporary art, given lectures and curated, organized and commissioned numerous Danish and international thematic exhibitions and solo exhibition and seminars.
