Curator, the Renaissance Society

Karsten Lund is Curator at the Renaissance Society, a non-collecting contemporary art institution located at the University of Chicago, where he organizes exhibitions, works closely with artists to produce new commissions, edits publications, and oversees a wide variety of public programs. He organized Jill Magid’s exhibition Tender: Balance (April 10–May 23) at the museum, and other recent exhibitions including Haig Aivazian: All of the Lights (2021); Nine Lives (2020); LaToya Ruby Frazier: The Last Cruze (2019) with Solveig Øvstebø; David Maljkovic: Also on View (2019); and Unthought Environments (2018). In 2017, Lund launched “Intermissions,” an ongoing performance series staged in the empty gallery space in between exhibitions, which has featured artists such as Camille Norment, Gordon Hall, keyon gaskon, Eglė Budvytytė, and Xavier Cha.
