Galleries Commit is a worker-led collective initiated in 2020 that is committed to a climate-conscious, resilient, and equitable future for New York City galleries. Focusing on shifting paradigms by building community and empowering individuals, Galleries Commit currently maintains an active community platform, a database for climate action resources, and a land conservation partnership. Laura Lupton is a founding member of Galleries Commit and has a decade of experience working within galleries, artist studios, and institutions to produce major commissions and innovative projects that have been presented by Creative Time, MoMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Venice Biennial, amongst others.
